(2) Aphorism assignment

Directions: Morrie Schwartz had many aphorisms that he lived his life by.  Choose one of Morrie’s aphorisms and write a thorough paragraph explaining/proving how this aphorism is true for your life. Your paragraph must have a topic sentence, three supporting details (each explained thoroughly with additional sentences), and a summary sentence. Hint: the aphorism should be listed in the topic sentence. Type your paragraph in a google docs document and submit it to the drop box on moodle.

Morrie’s Aphorisms

Death destroys a life, not a relationship.

When you’re in bed, you’re dead.

You’re not a wave, you’re part of the ocean.

Don’t hang on too long, and don’t let go too fast.

What’s wrong with being #2?

Learn to forgive yourself and others.

Accept what you are able to do, and what you are not able to do.

Don’t assume that it’s too late to get involved.

*None of these work for you? There are MANY of these aphorisms, which you can find in the book and/or online – in fact, Morrie wrote a book of aphorisms!! Pick a different one if you don’t like the choices above.

Extra Credit:

I will give 5 points extra credit for each additional paragraph that you decide to write, but they must be written with the same criteria.
