Preparing to Live
Steve Gleason helped bring the New Orleans Saints football team to victory in 2012 and then retired from the game for good. It wasn't until then that Steve Gleason, a celebrated New Orleans hero, was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease; shortly after his fatal diagnosis, his first child was born. He has chosen to document his life with ALS and share it with others.
Watch the above video and then respond to the following question:
Gleason states that he will not take the doctors advice to "prepare to die." Rather, he chooses to "prepare to live." How can you take his advice, follow his lead and "prepare to live" your life? When you are finished, respond to at least one other classmate. Remember to contribute something new to the discussion in your second response.
